Australia has a new roadmap for implementing Ocean Accounts. This webinar will explore how that roadmap can move into practice, where implementation can begin now, and who needs to be involved.

A public webinar from the Global Ocean Accounts Partnership (GOAP) Secretariat (UNSW) and the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS), University of Tasmania (UTAS).

Thursday 26 November 2026 | 12:00–12:45 AEDT | Online

Australia has committed to Ocean Accounts through its Sustainable Ocean Plan and the Joint Pledge to Advance Ocean Accounts by 2030. A new roadmap (Trebilco et al. 2026) sets out what needs to happen, and when. The question now is who will deliver it.

Why attend

  • Find your entry point. Implementation doesn’t depend on a single plan. See which roadmap actions fit your existing mandates and can start now.
  • Benchmark Australia. See how Australia compares with other Pledge signatories, and how GOAP can help with technical guidance and lessons from other countries.
  • Shape who does what. Your input will help decide whether a working session is needed in 2027 to allocate responsibilities.

Agenda (45 minutes)

  • The roadmap: what it says, what it leaves open and where the levers are (Rowan Trebilco)
  • Australia’s commitments and how GOAP can support them (GOAP)
  • Facilitated discussion and Q&A
