Webinar. Who Counts? Putting People at the Heart of Ocean Decisions

Webinar. Who Counts? Putting People at the Heart of Ocean Decisions

05 Nov 2026 – 18 Nov 2026
Zoom

A three-part GOAP webinar series exploring how countries are making people, livelihoods and ocean dependencies more visible in ocean data and decision-making.

Marine environments underpin resilience, nutrition and prosperity for coastal communities, yet these dependencies are often invisible in decision-making. When policies overlook the people who rely on the ocean for their livelihoods, they risk harming the very communities they should support.

In this three-part webinar series, teams from Belize, Costa Rica, the Maldives and Mozambique share the first steps they have taken towards making people visible in ocean data. They will discuss how they worked with with communities, decision-makers and stakeholders, they set out to understand how people depend on the ocean, what should be measured, and who is currently missing.

The series ends with a practical session, led by the GOAP Secretariat, for those looking to begin similar work in their own country, region or community.

Please note: Each session has its own registration. Please register separately for each session you’d like to attend.
